Two teenagers and a couple of labradors cover my time not spent in the booth. When not handling those four, one would likely find me at the water— on the beach with a book, paddling a kayak, or cooling off in the bay. I grow and preserve my own food. I have a passion for health, nutrition and the human body. The science of ecology fascinates me. I love to travel, having been to 40 states and 11 countries, and, of course, I am a lover of the journeys I can take through literature. If I get a free moment you may find me taking long walks, knitting a fine hat, baking, or sitting on the porch with coffee, wine, or a bourbon.

ALWAYS LEARNING
WELL, I am LA bound for learning! Workshops, conferences, gathering and all the things in between are coming this March. Not many folks know that we narrators all know each other very well DIGITALLY, and most of us have not met IN PERSON. During these events, we are able to see the talking heads attached to bodies while we gain knowledge in our craft.

THE GLORY OF RETURN
There is something to be said for adventure. Of striking out of your comfort zone, the place of all your familiars, venturing to a different territory and challenging yourself to see the world anew.
But there’s also something to say about the gentle glory of return. I found contentment upon returning home in something as simple as a pillow, peace in the familiar wooded walkway that I stroll every morning, even the feel of the air here in my lungs.
I used to be a jet setter, always looking for the next place to go and see and experience, and while that’s not gone, there is a lot of joy for me in the wet pine trees, the steel gray winter sky, and even the normalcy of making breakfast for kids. And while I honor my trip to the West Coast, I sit in a lot of gratitude for my little life in the Midwest by the bay.
